Rip n Repair
Established 2018 (Koreatown, Los Angeles)
Based out of LA Koreatown - Rip n Repair architects Ryan Kang, Jason Yi, & Albert Lim focus on Asian-American identity through graphic-led storytelling and an appreciation for communal upbringings. Drawing inspiration from Korean riot and LA subcultures, the apparel brand relies on playful imagery to deliver social commentary on immigrant experiences.
In November 2021, Rip n Repair debuted a collaborative ComplexCon capsule - featuring illustrative references to traditional Korean watercolor art (Flavor Country), the Seoul Olympics (Seoul 1988), and Asian stigmatizations (No More Happy Endings). The brand's most recent collaboration with the NFL showcases LA Koreatown as a backdrop for Super Bowl LVI (February 2022).
